Lunch Salad


4 oz ground turkey cooked with taco seasons
1 cup shredded lettuce
½ cup tomatoes
1/8 avocado
1 table spoon olives


Clean Taco Seasoning

1 Tbsp chili powder
1 1/2 tsp cumin
1 1/2 tsp paprika
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Clean Eating

It was a cycle. Go to the gym.  Ride my bike.  Yoga on my lunch break. Ride my bike home. Eat whatever I want because I was working out all the time.  

This was so wrong. 

It was the same when I was pregnant and nursing. Same thing.  I need to eat to make sure I have the energy for my babies. 

Not that this was wrong, but I was eating crazy amounts of unhealthy foods- all-the-time.

These days I have a meal plan, I plan my menu for the week, and do an all in thirty minute workout. 



 This week I will be sharing some of my favorite clean eating receipts that I love and I hope you will too.

Shrimp Salad



4 oz grilled shrimp
½ cup lettuce
½ cup chopped green onion
1 cup shredded cabbage
2 tbsp oil-based salad dressing

4 raw cashews, chopped

Squaghetti Dinner


Cover squash with olive oil and salt.  Place down on a pan and cook at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.  Add your favorite low fat/low carb meat and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Eat Fresh Foods

Turkey



Start using ground turkey over ground beef.  Try ground turkey, taco seasons, served on a wheat tortilla, lettuce, tomato and avocado.  My boys loved it.

Hydrate

Don't forget to HYDRATE with water!!!


Drink your drink your body weight, divided by two, in ounces. So if you weigh 180 pounds, that would be 180/2=90. That's 90 ounces of water, every day.

Plan your meals


 
Take the time to plan your meals for the week.  Saturday is my grocery store day and Sunday is my meal prep day. If I know what I am going to eat, I have already shopped for, and it is already in my refrigerator, than I am more likely to eat the food in my fridge than go out and spend more money on more food.

Small Changes

Since March, I have made small changes in my diet and my workouts.  I wanted to share with you a tip a day for the next week, starting Monday, because these small daily changes compounded over time will make a BIG change in your life.

For example, take this AB challenge.  If you had participated in this AB challenge you would have spent approximately three minutes of your day doing about 100 AB exercises.  Pretty simple, just three minutes a day.  In fact, it is also simple to NOT do. If you had followed the guide, you would have completed 2,365 AB exercises in 30 days. 100 sit-ups is not that hard to do but they are also easy to NOT do.



When you commit to making small changes to your daily health and fitness routine, over time, you will you will see the compounded results.

Earlier this year I was faced with the very real question of what I was going to do for work. While I have a couple of business degrees under my belt, heading back into corporate America was not on the top of my list.  The idea of working from my house and being able to spend time with my two young boys appealed to me. 

That is when I started coaching.  I love to workout and I love that I can share my experience with those who also want to have better fitness and health.  

We all have to start somewhere, you should start now.

My Story


Here I am, a single mother with two young children age 2 and 1. It is crazy for me to be sitting here writing this because I am 42 years old and I never expected to where I am right now. At the beginning of this year, I started this new chapter in my life and made a decision to get back into shape and starting doing something for ME to make ME happy. 

 I realized I am a stress eater.  I was pregnant and nursing for 2 years straight. I gave myself permission to eat whatever and whenever I wanted. No joke- I had lots going on in my personal life and I was eating unhealthy and eating all-the-time. I knew I needed a change.


So... I started measuring my food with these containers. The meal plan helped me figure out the right amount of all the good things I needed to put in my body. It is simple and easy for me to figure out.  I know that I am eating right and not depriving myself.

The Start of My Fitness Journey



Symbolically on March 20, I started working out for ME because I wanted my body back after having two back to back babies. I have always worked out but for the first time I am eating better and focusing on my nutrition. 

Three months later, I have lost 10 pounds and 4.5 inches.  I feel like I am in the best shape of my life and  finally confident with my body.

Bobby is a year old


Baby Bobby is a year old!

He is independent and an explorer.  As a parent I want to raise my children to be independent; but, as a mother, I want my baby back. He does not like to be held and is always pushing to get out on his own.

It is hard to believe that I have a two year old, a one year old, and I will be turning forty-two in two weeks.

Bobby, smile. Is that too much to ask?

Today I caught myself cradling Bobby. He wiggled himself to a sitting position and squirmed down to the floor.  I want my baby back. Last month Bobby stopped nursing and I miss holding my baby in my arms.  It is time to face the facts.  Next month my baby will be a toddler.  Lord help me.  Next month I will be 42 years old with a one year old and a two year old, how can that be?!

Bobby is 10 Month Old

Robertito is 10 months old and I cannot get over how much his is growing and learning on daily basis.  He has his two bottom teeth and the top two teeth are making their way in.


Bobby is such a happy-go-lucky baby, he has to be with Nate roughing him up all the time.  In the past two days, Bobby is balancing more and standing.  He has stopped eating baby food and is more interested in the food that me and Nathaniel are eating. 


I feel so blessed that I get to spend this time with both the boys, watching them grow and learn.

Bobby is 9 Months Old

This handsome baby is 9 months old.  Bobby is crawling, lifting himself up, and being utterly adorable. 


Bobby has my father's name and I am reminded of what a doctor said to me at a doctor's visit for my father, "I have more time than money".  Isn't that the truth?! It is my reminder to slow down and love every moment with my growing children.
